Wow, this is totally unexpected.
Who could have ever imagined that the Senate wouldn’t actually put together some sort of foreclosure relief package before their week long July 4th break. I can imagine the thought process “Should we try to do something for the American people, or should we screw around, then take a vacation?”.
From the Boston Globe: “But negotiations to complete the measure hit a snag over a bid by Senator John Ensign, a Nevada Republican, to add a $6 billion package of tax breaks for renewable energy producers.”
WTF do renewable energy producers have to do with aiding distressed homeowners? Apparently nothing more than the hope President Bush will sign the legislation providing some Nevada constituents/contributors with perks that couldn’t fly on their own.
I really detest the majority of politicians.
