The best way to do it would be to run a tract search. I am also in Illinois (NW Suburbs of Chicago) and I usually get tract searches done for around $70. I am also a real estate broker and normally I check the tax records available on MLS. Also, please keep in mind that there is a very high possibility that the property is not going to get to the auction: about 75% file chapter 11, others cure their loans & etc. Before going to the auction check with plaintiff's attorneys for the initial bid amount and try to find out if the auction will take place. 10% down and the rest within 24hrs is normal - I think this is the case with Intercounty sales.
