renting house possibly forclosed

I rented a house in March 2005 and have made all payments and security deposits, including June's payment. I received a phone call from a man claiming he is a private investor and foreclosed on the property and he now owns the house and I had to move out or buy the house from him for $250 more a month than I am already paying. The people I rented the house from wont admit if the house has been repo'd or not, but they are still collecting the rent from me. I live in a small town and are having a hard time getting an appointment with an attorney. I am 74 years old and spent all of my savings to move into this house. This sounds like a scam and it seems like something illegal is going on. Does anyone have any advise?
