: I was wondering how I would go about seeing a foreclosed property before it goes up for bid. NJ Sheriff dept states that they do not arrange for a bidder to see the house in advance. Can you make arrangements to see the house with the current owner or the current owner’s lawyer? Any advice?
: thanks

You could ask the owner (who is losing the property at the sale), but don't be surprised if they say "no" (or some other rather strong language).
It doesn't hurt to ask but remember the situation. Be tactful and understanding. If they turn you down it is their right to do so.
What lawyers are you referring to, the banks? If so, they have no more right than the sheriff's department to show the house. None, that is.
