: : If your home is considered non-agricultural, there could be a three month redemption period... meaning that you can redeem your property within 90 days from the date of the sale by bringing new money (sale or refi)to the table, and paying off your old mortgage plus whatever else must be paid.
: : You can check when the Certificate of Sale was recorded against your deed. That starts the redemption clock.
: : If you don't redeem, the title will pass from you to the new owner... and the new owner will ask that you move out.
: i understand all of that the 90 days is almost up so how do i know if it was bought at sell i do not live in the house anymore and what happens if it was not sold for what was owed. or what if it goes back to the lender? i just want out from under it.

Call the sheriff department and ask them. Most are very helpful. I would presume that the bank "bought" the certificate. You need to get on this right away. It is not up to the lender to tell you how the sale went. It's public record. You should be able to find out quite easily.
An alternative source for this information would be to contact the attorneys handling this file. If nothing else the sheriff's department would know who this is.
