Tenant in Foreclosed House - WI

We are renting a house (just until our new house is finished). The home was foreclosed on and the sheriff's sale was 8/18. There were no bids at the sale, so the mortgage company took it over (we think). They would not talk to us until yesterday 9/6. Now they are telling us they won't rent to us and we should get out. Does the previous owner (our landlord) have any "redemption period" after the sheriff's sale? How much notice do they need to give us to vacate?
