What do I owe after foreclosure in PA

I went through a foreclosure in P.A . I bought the house for $38,000 after all was said and done the mortage company said I owe $40,000. they sold the house for $48,000. What should I expect to happen know? I havent heard from anyone and the house sold 2 months ago
