Brenda: The Sheriff sale (assuming that it was a legally valid sale) terminated your ownership of the home and unfortunately, you are now in a position where you are subject to being evicted in a matter of days. Buying the house back depends on a) who bought it and what they intend to do with it, and b)your ability to finance a repurchase. By now your should have been contacted by the purchaser, but if you still don't know who it is, call the Sheriff's office and they'll tell you. I'm in Indy, but I don't know if I can help you or not. Feel free to e-mail me directly. I'll e-mail you my phone number.

: My home was sold in Sheriff sale last week from our default of the mortgage. We have lived in it for 16 years and I want it back so badly. How can we get this back? Buy back from the purchaser?
