How to get former owner out of house in Rhode Island?

we bought a forclosure home in RI, but the previous owner has now been living there for almost a month since the auction. what actions do we need to take to get them to vacate? One lawyer told me that they need to be treated as tenants and go through an eviction, but I have also heard mention of a document called a writ of possession which could give us acess in less time. Our family needs to bee able to occupy the house very soon because the lease for our own apartment is up at the end of July. We will be getting the title/deed for the house in a few days.
