I lost my business in Sept. My husband still works full time, but doesnt make enough to cover the house payments. We are behind on everything. The mortagae companies have been helpful in making payment plans and trying to work things out, but it is to the point now where we have electricity & food or make the payment. What should I do. I am trying to sell the house, I dont know how long that will take. In the mean time when it goes to foreclosure what happens if it isn't sold? do they take it? What about the equity?I live in So. Calif. Real estate is very high, I am not gonna be able to buy another home, Does anyone know anything about the capital gains tax?
