: How long does a foreclosure stay on your credit report?

======================Purportedly about 7 years. But what most lenders focus on when deciding matters concerning your credit is what you've done in the last 2 years. If you have a clean, current credit record with just one foreclosure years ago I think you could the average lender could be easily persuaded to take a chance on you again.
