Dan,

Chances are since it's pad locked it's listed with a realtor for the bank.

Two things I would do:
1) go to any realty office and have them run the address in the MLS.
2) go back and talk to the clerk, get info on how to get in touch with her daughter, and son in law. The home may not yet be foreclosed and the bank has it locked to forestall vandalism. When you talk with the daughter or son in law get all the info about the mortgage and call the bank. When you call the bank, no matter what they say the balance owed is, tell the bank the home is trashed and you want to fax an offer to buy, but you want them to have there aprsr look at the home before thay rule against your offer.
