Ed,

Thanks.

While I was at the courthouse yesterday I did get some very valuable information. I live in the state of Tennessee and the clerk with the daughter who ran off from the house told me of a web site the state opperates that gives a lot of the access you mentioned.

It's a great site and I played around a little with it last night. It gives information of sales in a subdivision in three year increments. It gives ownership of an address. It gives tax basis for the property.

It does not give liens or other info that is on the trust deed. But I'm not real good with that yet anyway because I'm just getting started.

I did stop by the accessors office while I was at the courthouse to ask about tax's. When I mentioned one of the 3 pieces of property that was listed for foreclosure in the paper the clerk immediately said she knew the numbers by heart since there had been so much questioning over that particular parcel.

She volunteered that a realitor had even told her that he had met with the neighbors and found out that the owner, a divorced woman, had left town and the state and no-one knew where to find her. The house is listed with a tax base of 132k and includes 2 acres of land. It is a basement rancher that needs some minor repair.

The other house's are located inside the city limits. One in a good established neighborhood with an extra large chain link fenced lot.

The other in a less desirable part of the city with narrow streets but has had siding and the heat/a-c unit replaced recently.
