You might even want to phone the tax assessor's office to determine if an offer of settlement can be made against the outstanding balance as probably other fees such as late charges and penalties have been added.

Once you arrive on a payoff amount then you would submit payment as instructed which should clear the debt. Make certain to follow up with the organization to verify that they have removed the lein from title once paid.
