Thank you both for your comments. My mother's house is in $180,000 load default. It is only worth $100,000. The home is not in good condition to do a short sale. The mortagage company told my mom that if she could come up with $1,500 a month, then they won't foreclose. She has not paid mortgage on this home since March of 2002. This is so odd, the length of time as well as them offering her this deal, knowing that if she hasn't paid then, how can she mow. The mortgage company is EMC mortgage and I tell you they have strange ways. So people they have foreclosed on in one years time, I have even seen eight months, but my mom they are dragging on and on leaving my mom in an emotinal wreak. She doesn't know what to do.A short sale is not possible. Can they just start accepting payment where my mom left off, or are they just lying to her to make it easier when they either foreclose or give her the deed-in-lieu?
