what is avg. foreclosure deposits in CA?

Moving to CA next month and want to bid at foreclosure auctions. Does anyone know generally what trustees require for deposit? 5%? Those CA property values are pretty high, 5% would be high barrier to entry for lots of newbie foreclosure investors. If it's $5k or so then anyone can jump in on the action.
