This isn't legal advice, but people will often file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy to delay a sale. If the trustee won't postpone, bankruptcy is federal protection which can mandate postponement. Your BK filing must be before the auction time, and you need to notify the trustee that bankruptcy has been filed.
