Short Sale info

I have an offer on my house, The offer is 320000.00 The payoff is 342000.00. The bank had an apprasial done and the house app at 334000.00. The only way the bank will except the 320 offer if I contribute to the shortfall. Is the normal, If I refuse will this cause me to lose the possibility of the sale.
