Make sure when you are talking to customer service they are aware your loan is a Fannie Mae. I faxed paperwork May 12 and called every two days to find out if a negotiator had been assigned. Six weeks passed. During my June 27 phone call to find out if a negotiator had been assigned, the representative checked deeper into the computer records and saw our loan was a Fannie Mae and said a different section of Chase/Wamu was handling Fannie Mae modifications and gave me a different fax number to refax the paperwork. With the right information our loan was modified within a week of refaxing our paperwork. Thank goodness I got that information or we would still be waiting and probably would have lost our home. I want to get this information out to as many as possible so please share.
