I received papers that gave us a date of next Friday, stating that if we were out on or bfore that date, and the house is in good condition, we would recieve a check. But there really is no way we can be out by then. So if that is not the actual eviction date, how long could we have until the actual eviction?

This sounds more like an offer of "cash for keys" as opposed to an eviction. An eviction would state that you have to be out by a certain date. Period.
Cash for keys is a voluntary agreement that you will leave by a certain date with the house in good order. In return, they will give you a check.
Contact this party and let them know that you can't move that fast. But ask if there would be a longer timeframe that you could meet. The check may not be as big but get what you can.
Doing this friendly is much better than an eviction, believe me.
