Thanks for the reply. One thing that I've found is that AL is a non-judicial foreclosure state (judicial foreclosures are rare). One bad thing about this is that the foreclosure procedure is extremely fast (40-60 days). I've written out a hardship letter to the lender and am about to overnight it. Furthermore, I've spoken to a foreclosure prevention company that is going to assist in my short sale. Is it normal to have appoint them as Land Trustee's? This was expressed to me last evening by the gentleman working on my short sale and I was a bit skeptical.
