Costs vary from area to area and from company to company so shopping around for a good price may be well worth it.

And remember that things can be added right up to the last minute so you may want to have the ability to get an update right before any action on your part.

One can also go to the courthouse and do the search oneself. But even if you know how to do it, it is usually easier and in the long run less expensive to have a good title company in your corner.
