note holder

I am a 2nd mortage note holder in the amount of 85,ooo. The multifamily is now going to foreclosure after the owner converted into condos which have not sold. I am not going to get the money i lent him. too much is owed and the market plunged. can i get the money somehow?? im not rich and was my retirement to be money. tears tears
