Oh my God!...

The selfish me: I'm happy to know I'm not the only one dealing with ...the too much distilled drinking water being wasted/shower water left running/cell phone overages/heat and air conditioning at the slightest discomfort/food left out for spoil/ clothes lost at school ... thing.

But as you stated...part of the job of "parent" means teaching value and responsibility.

We just had our kids (14 & 17) sign a contract for their recently replaced cell phones ...and made them pay for the upgrades themselves. I'm confident those will be the longest lasting, most-well-preserved phones in the history of (last name) house. They've had the new phones for a couple of weeks...I have yet to see the phones on the floor. The youngest one even still knows where his is.

There were several factors I considered before posting the response that I did. Ultimately, based on Susan's report, it would appear that the boyfriend/father presently lacks the substance required to make a lasting, healthy relationship.

Which gives us some insight into where the poster currently resides in life...either she's a "savior/enabler" or a broken soul who doesn't feel she's worthy of something better.

I know this is beyond the scope of "foreclosure" but when people post comments like "any advice?", sometimes, its becomes necessary to 'go there'.
