Yes, I probably will be contacting an attorney. MN law states that in order for a property to be considered abandoned, it must:
1. Be unoccupied and unmaintained for at least one year.
-AND-
2. Have unpaid taxes for at least two years.

In my case, the first item is partially true; I moved out of there June 1, 2006. However, I did maintain it throughout the rest of the summer.

The second part is untrue for me, as County records show all taxes are current, and I made actual payments through the first half of 2006.
