This house is not in the same condition you were led to believe. My humble opinion is that you have a number of outs on this one.
Talk to an attorney right away and have him/her contact the seller and closing company and tell them this is on hold until a full review is done (or have him/her shut the whole thing down). Always better comng from an attorney.
You need to do this NOW.
