I had a close friend lose his house after a divorce and a layoff. The high bidder, private 3rd party, bid over his owed $ amount. How does he go about getting excess funds? Someone has approached him and for a fee, paid after securing those funds, will help get said excess funds. He had only the 1st mortgage and had over $50,000 in equity, from sale of 1st house.
