Thanks for the answer. Im afraid I wasnt clear about what exactly happened. The tax account was written into the agreement with the mortgage. Part of our payment was to go to the guy we bought the house from and the rest into an account for the taxes. He never paid the taxes and as it turned out he had a previous agreement with the city to repay back taxes he owed prior to the sale to us-he did not pay those either. I had to pay those also else the city would have taken the property. The trustee for the bankruptcy made it clear to me that she did not care about that and that her only concern was to liquidate the the property to satisify his bankruptcy. I have reciepts and of course the city will vouch that I have in fact paid all the taxes that were due. And yes he did deed the house to me-it is in my name. I do plan to fight the forclosure but just dont know how much time I will have. I have not been served as of yet any kind of forclosure notice. And no I dont have any other loans on the house. Just dont want to be stuck out in the cold without our belongings and dont know how long the whole process is gonna take? Many thanks for the answer again.
