Foreclosure on a rental property

Can anyone tell me waht happens on a Foreclosure of a rental property in CT? Will the Mortgage Company go after my own home? How can I give the house back to the Company with out puting in risk my home? It took me 2 years to evict the family that was living in the rentyal property, and I am behind 4 months. What should I do?
