PMI Seeking Revenge
Posted by Byrd on September 19, 2007 at 11:11:35:
Several years ago, my house was foreclosed on. We tried to do a deed in lue, but I guess the bank didn't accept it. They quit communicating with us and I found the foreclosure on my credit report. So I never got in touch with the bank again. Now, 5 years later, I get a letter from a lawyer from the PMI insurance group. I guess the house sold for 25K less than what was owed on it. PMI covered the lender and now want us to pay them back. Is there anything I can do about this? I can find nothing on the internet on it and am clueless in this. It's not like I have 25K to give them, nor will I ever have that kind of money where I am living. I have written them back disupting the claim, waiting for them to get me info on what exactly happened, but that is just a delay tactic to give me more time to think. Any suggestions?
