Bankruptcy won't erase a foreclosure. In fact it will only make your credit much worse.

Some people use bankruptcy to stall the foreclosure so they can live in the house a little longer. But that is all it really is, a stalling action.

The two really have nothing to do with each other.

If you are prepared to move anyway don't add to your problems. And if you are in Michigan you have a 6 month redemption period where you can stay in the house after the sheriff sale. You are aware of that, right?
