Couple of points I kind of disagree with.

Most of the recorder/court house offices I've been to do not compile foreclosure lists. The information is available, but you have to go through all of the information and get the specific foreclosure cases/ documents manually.

The major foreclosure data providers don't use local contractors or their own people to obtain the base data. They will use other local providers to "fill in" gaps in the national data they purchase.

Many major real estate markets have seen significant price hits from 2006 to 2007. While I don't doubt there is more pain to come, it looks like H.S. Dent missed the beginning of the decline when they published their update on October 30,2006.

Not trying to be argumentative, but it's best if we try to provide somewhat accurate information rather than pushing hysteria.
