$70k lost in 11mths, mold, termites, allergic, what to do?

Hello, I am currently a home owner of a house in California. My husband and I purchased our current house in March of 2007. When we purchased it thinking it was in great condition (as per our inspectors). We've since found out that the house has mold issues (which my daughter and I are highly allergic to mold) and we found traces of termites having lived/currently living in the house. We just filed bankruptcy and were going to try to hold onto the house, but we can't live here healthy! I've been sick for the last 3.5 months because of the mold and my daughter has now been diagnosed with asthma. We just found out that our house is worth $70k LESS than what we paid for it 11 months ago.

We were thinking of just walking away from the house, but is this the correct way to do things? We can't afford to have the "corrections" done to the house in order to make it livable and we can't sell the house in the current condition??
