I have a question though... If a person (whole house inspector) is hired to do an inspection in a house, is it not his/her responsibility to document all findings? The reason I ask is because after going back and looking at the pictures that we took the day we looked at the house as a possible "home" I (the non-seasoned inspector) can notice a color variation in the wall in the bathroom. Wouldn't that cause a red flag to go off in the inspector's head to further investigate the situation at hand? Or at the least document the mold in their report? This is why we hire the "professionals" instead of doing it ourselves, right? Had we known about the moldy conditions BEFORE escrow closed, we would've backed out of the contract due to my allergies.
