Thamk you for responding. We were told by Countrywide that we have to list the house for 90 days before they will consider in deed of lieu.
We had filed for chapter 7 - the credit cards are wiped off but we were going to try to stay in the house but the payments are too much.
So Eric, you are saying they will not discharge the bankruptcy because of the house? How long can that go on? Will this ruin our discharge?
If we wait till court date for forclosure - which I guess we can, won;t they try to get what money is i our bank account since we aren't paying them?
We haven't paid since July so I really don't know "when" forclosure will happen and of course the mortgage companys don't tell me a time frame. They just said that forclosure proceedings will continue while we try to short sell the house.
One more question - since we filed for bankruptcy, can they come after us for any fees or balances owed when this is all said and done?
Sorry for all the questions - any feedback is welcome.
