I hate bringing this up as a Realtor, but did the agent representing you explain the different inspections which could be ordered? I know I do with each client and when they find out how much it costs the answer is usually "Don't order the report". I have had a few who did want a report when I pushed the point after noticing a few things myself. We negotiated with the seller to pay half. This was during the hot seller's market. One way I was able to get the sellers to pay for the repair was that if they sold the home to someone else without disclosing the mold they could be sued. They agreed it was better to do it the right way. Have you contacted your agent who represented you? You may need to contact their broker to go over the issues. They do carry E&O insurance (most do). Most people are surprised to hear we do get mold her in sunny California like everyone else...

Sorry for you loss.
