There's no doubt that finding a landlord that will rent to you can be a problem. A couple words of encouragement, though.
1. Cash always talks. If you know you're going to lose your home, I'd recommend trying to save as much money as possible so you can afford to buy your way into a new place. By buying your way in, I mean offering to pay first and last month's rent as well as a security deposit (maybe even more than they ask) up front in one lump sum. So try to stay in your home as long as possible and save every penny you can.
2. Landlords also know what's going on in the RE market and are not oblivious to the fact that bad things happen to good people. If you have good employment references, personal references, and a verifiable story, it will go a long way toward getting you in a place. At least it does with me when I'm evaluating potential tenants that have had credit problems.
