eviction notice after foreclosure possession

On April 17, 2007 my condo was foreclosed on, I tried to get information regarding when I would be evicted but all I was told was that a Sheriff could come to my door at any point after this and give me 48 hours to leave.
I then received a visit from the REO bank rep who now owns the condo unit, it was to offer me a cash for keys arrangement. After doing research I found that I am considered a tenant and the REO current owner must follow my state's tenant &
landlord laws. I live in Maine. I went to the online Pine Tree Legal and found the entire eviction process and have been preparing to go through the process. However I just received a Writ of Possession from the Sheriff's Dept. saying I have 48 hours from right now to leave the premises. Whereas the eviction process states that this is the last step. The Deputy looked through all of the court paperwork and legal stuff I've received about this and he didn't see the previous eviction stuff but said it has to do with my contract that I originally signed. I am confused. Pine Tree Legal doesn't open until tomorrow morning and I am hoping for some input from folks who have some knowledge of this process. I have been told so many different things by so many different sources please don't say I should hire a lawyer, I don't even begin to have the money for this.
