With regard to the Short Sale and your credit profile.
A Short Sale will affect your credit profile and credit scores as deeply as a full blown foreclosure.
I recommend that you consult with a bankruptcy attorney and a CPA so that you don't step into a bigger problem
Do you want to keep the house? If so, check out a professional to negotiate new terms. They may be willing to cut the balance down by what they agreed to in the short sale. Good luck.
