Short sale taking too long

We have had our house on the market for nearly a year. There have been 3 offers that have fallen through bcasue the bank takes too long. There are 4 more pending now. We have not even received an official notice of default from the banks yet. We moved out of the house over 8 months ago (90 miles away) because of job relocation. We can't keep paying the utilites and we are getting notices from the city about the over grown weeds and murky pool water. We will be pulling it off the market at the end of August if they haven't made a decisiion by then. I am ready for them to take the house already. What can we do to make them take the house already?
