Foreclosures in the Twin Cities area where I work are done by a handful of law firms that specialize in this kind of work. There are a ton of things done before the Sheriff Sale (fire sale?) and the attorneys get a pretty good hourly rate. A number of the items are also paid for in advance (like the publication cost).

My educated guess is that things are in process and well on their way. And don't confuse county costs with the costs of the attorneys doing the filing. They charge for that too.

I know it is confusing and lots of costs. But the law firm will be able to give you a breakdown list if you are able to pay off all that is needed to bring loan current.
