If you were in my state, a judicial foreclosure state, I'd recommend you visit the local county clerk, or registrar, and look up the deed to the property in which you reside. You would need to know your landlord's name. Find the recorded Deed.
It may be stamped to indicate foreclosure proceedings have commenced, or it may not.
The Deed will refer you to the book and page in which the Mortgage is recorded.
Find the Mortgage.
It may be stamped to indicate foreclosure proceedings have commenced, or it may not.
If the mortgagee has filed a lawsuit against the homeowner.... you will be referred to a Lis Pendens file.
The Lis Pendens will indicate who is bringing about the foreclosure.
This shouldn't take more then 10 minutes. Or, just ask your landlord.
