Is this legal?

House for sale, not in foreclosure. I have been making monthly payments since I moved but somehow forgot Sept payment. Because of this an inspection was ordered. The contractor found house for sale and vacant and my property was re-secured and winterized. I had the heat on, active listing and called my bank to advise I was moving. Are they allowed to do this?
