You'll have to miss three payments before you get any notice from you lender in the form of a Lis Pendens. After that, you'll have about another 90 days before you recieve a final judgement. Then, finally, about another 30 days before the final foreclosure sale. However, witht that said, the best thing you can do is immediately pick up the phone and call your lender. Let them know what the situation, and ask them if they are willing to modify your loan to give you some breathing space, or agree to a short sale if you can get an offer. The last thing they want is another foreclosed property on their hands.
