Re: How long do I have
Since Ohio is a Judicial Foreclosure state (the foreclosure action is done through the courts) it will take anywhere from 4-7 months for the case to be fully prosecuted. By now, you should have received notice via certified mail from the court or a process server should have showed up at your doorstep to serve you with court papers.
There are many more steps involved before the home is scheduled for the Sheriff Sale.
During this time, if you can, explore EVERY possible way for you to save the house (refi, sell the house, rent it out, contact the foreclosing lender for a workout, etc.)
If none of those options work out for you, and if you have any equity in the home, you can always attend a local REI meeting and find an investor to advance you the funds necessary to bring your loan(s) current and work out some type of a purchase or lease to get you out from under your loan payments.
I work in Ohio and attend many of the Sheriffs sales so I am familiar with the process.
Again, you will want to act quickly to find a solution.
Good Luck
