Have been contacted by another one that only charges $100 up front and a total of $800 or $900 if successful.
And they don't stick their fingers into an already tight commission situation. Frankly, straight fees is what I want to deal with, no percentages. The fees just mentioned could be huge ($999 PLUS commission!). And they do affect the borrower.
