After 3 months he should already have informed the bank of your intention to sell short and asked for their short sale package or requirements. Once there is an offer it may take awhile to get the SS approved. The house should be marketed at an aggressive enough price to produce offers in a timely fashion as well.
This is your credit at risk, not the agents so you need to make sure he is doing what he is supposed to. If not cut him loose and find another agent.
