The real estate agent said that I would benefit if the morgage company accepts the offer on conditions that they would forgive the debt, 1099, and I would have a short sale on my credit vs. a foreclosure. He said that he has seen the second mortgage settle on $1,000 since they would not receive anything. Is he trying a scam?
