Its very hard for several years after Chapter 7, but some people will work with you. I filed in 2005 and was able to purchase a home in 2006, which I'm now in the process of selling it in a short sale due to a bad loan. I just had to go through the process of finding a home to rent and the owners worked with my credit issues and Im just going to pay an additional one hundred dollars a month on my 12 month lease versus a higher deposit. Be patient everyone wont say no, although it just may be at higher cost.
