Posted by Christopher on October 16, 2007 at 11:00:52: mentally being behind on my payment is probably the harder thing to do but I'll probably have to pull the trigger. Now should I pull the money out and tuck it away in a safety deposit box? My concern is after all is said and done, if they want to look at my bank acct. they will see an excess of cash. I could use the money instead to pay off my CC's but then I lose the debts and they might say that I can still afford the payments.
And what about the rents that I collect? Would I still be obligated to collect the rents even though I'm not paying my mortgage? Should I even tell my renters what I'm planning on doing?
Oh the stress I put myself in... bad boy
In any case, there was equity in the property as of last few months. I owe 600K with first and second and now with all of the property prices dropping like crazy, I'd be lucky to get it appraised at that value. Last time I looked, the value was at 720K, I blinked, and now this (a bit melodramatic but true).
My current renters have no desire to do a lease option especially with the way the homes are still declining in value.
